Jarrell Miller has continued to stoke his fiery war of words with Anthony Joshua by stating ‘we aren’t friends’.

Miller and Joshua have seriously disliked each other for over four years. It started back in New York City in June 2019 when they were due to fight to mark Joshua’s stateside debut. In the build up to the fight and following some uncharacteristically heated back and forth at the press conferences, Miller failed several drug tests and was removed from the card. Late stand-in Andy Ruiz Jr then caused one of the biggest upsets in modern boxing by stopping Joshua and taking his three world titles home.

AJ’ later regained the titles in the rematch and when he came face to face with Miller at the press conference to announce their respective fights against Otto Wallin and Daniel Dubois next month, the war of words started up again with vengeance.

Speaking to FightHype, Big Baby Miller said AJ tried to apologise after the fiery press conference.

“He trying to call and apologise and there ain’t nothing to talk about man. He called my publicist, the same day after the press conference. Ain’t nothing to talk about man.”

Miller then said the only way he would be open to talking to Joshua would be about a fight between the two.

“If you want to talk business about a future fight then yeh we can talk then but until then we aren’t going to be friends until I punch you in the mouth. It’s like that thing at school you got guys you don’t get along with then you fight and you become best friends after that. But until I touch his chin ain’t nothing to talk about man.”

Should both men come through their fights on December 23, the path could be clear for them to settle their beef once and for all.

Given his commitment to other fighters with impending matches, he couldn’t neglect their training. “But the only problem was they wanted me to train him in London. And at that time, I just had too many fights coming up. I couldn’t do it. I don’t neglect my fighters, even though Joshua is a big name, I couldn’t neglect the guys that I already have,” revealed Ronnie Shields. Joshua might be an enormous name in the industry, but Shields’ loyalty to his existing fighters remained paramount for him to abandon them.

Critics have pointed out that Fury undertook a fight purely for the sake of money and gave up on the bigger, more vital picture: his unification of titles clash against Usyk. If boxers like Fury got the compensation that their experience and record demanded, the Ngannou fight would have never happened.

I like making money.” He added, “This is a prizefighting sport like I’ve been broke. My family’s been broke, I know what this s*** means, and I do it cause I’m good at it, and I hustle hard and when it’s all said and done, no one will care about me no more.”

‘Femi’ asserts that he is in the sport to earn and that too in abundance. Moreover, it is his humble beginnings that have instilled a desire in him to be wealthy. It was poverty that ignited a fire in him to be financially secure.
