Being a mother is the hardest task of all, but Tiger Woods’s niece, Cheyenne Woods, makes it seem like a piece of cake. The golfer’s life was forever changed when she became a mom to two precious little ones, Cameron and Maya. For her, family is everything, and she quotes it as reaffirming the importance of family and being there when you can. However, every great thing comes with its challenges, and so does motherhood.

The former Tour professional recently gave an update about Maya’s health through a video on her Instagram story. In the video, Tiger Woods’s sweet Maya was seen smiling and giggling while her mother was joyfully helping her say the word Mama. The caption read, “Our baby has been THRIVING on vacation. Love that for her, she deserves it ”, and indeed she does. The golfer seems to be a vacation with her whole family.

While her firstborn was in the pink of health when she was born, she had to face a daunting challenge with her second child, Maya. Maya has had a rough time feeding and gaining weight ever since she was born. She battled severe reflux and laryngomalacia, and as Maya underwent surgery and began using a feeding tube, the golfer started feeling scared and helpless, to the extent that she felt scared to leave the house. Now, things seem to be changing for the better, but is the golfer coming back to the sport anytime soon?

Cheyenne Woods, a professional golfer, has shifted her focus from competing full-time to prioritizing her family. Her secondborn’s medical conditions have made it almost impossible for her to come back to the sport, but there’s still some home. She now enjoys watching golf more than she did during her competitive days. Woods hopes to qualify for another U.S. Women’s Open in the future but doesn’t want to devote herself entirely to the sport. Instead, she wants to balance golf with family time.

After her last performance at the Cambia Portland Classic in September 2021, the golfer’s priorities have significantly changed. She loves the little moments she shares with her family, like making breakfast for her son and late-night feedings with her daughter. After years of traveling alone for golf, she now values family time above all else. Although she may not be seen on the golf course as frequently, Woods actively documents her journey as a mother on Instagram.

She hopes to show her children one day what an amazing golfer she is, and she talked about it in an interview with Golfweek earlier this year. “I would love for my kids to eventually be able to see what mom can do, what mom used to do,” said the golfer. And her son, Cameron, loves the sport as much as his mother: “My son loves watching golf; it’s crazy. He’s really getting into playing and baseball as well.” So, fans may not get to see more of Cheyenne Woods, but they are excited to see this new chapter in the golfer’s life.

Despite taking a break from competitive golf due to her two pregnancies, Cheyenne Woods’ passion for the game never goes away. Over the past few years, the half-niece of renowned golfer Tiger Woods has undergone numerous personal transformations.

The golfer, who is married to Aaron Hicks, was already fortunate to have a son, Cameron, born in 2022. Then, in October of last year, she gave birth to Maya Nicole Hicks, her second child. Months after her recovery from giving birth, the 33-year-old golfer talked about parenting, her kids, and her passion for the game!

In a recent honest interview with Golf Week USA, Woods discussed her experience being a mother and how much she misses playing golf. “I do miss Tour golf,” she remarked. The golfer revealed that she misses the competition more than the travel she used to go in while on the Tour. Cheyenne Woods remarked, “I miss the competition, but not necessarily the travel.” She mentioned that she watches a lot of golf while she’s not playing the sport. I probably watch more today than I ever have.

Speaking of her 20-month-old son Cameron, she mentioned that he enjoys playing both of his parents’ sports. My son is fascinated about watching golf. He’s also starting to take a serious interest in baseball. Eventually, I hope my children will be able to witness what their mother is capable of and has accomplished. Woods had not enjoyed a round of golf until five days prior to giving birth to Maya.

She added that even though she is a huge golf fan, traveling for tournaments makes it tough for her to spend quality time with her family. She enjoys feeding her kids first thing in the morning now that she is not competing. She puts her family first above all else. “In terms of priorities, our family truly is the most important thing to me,” she continued.

The LPGA golfer is still grieving the loss of her brother, which happened in 2022, despite being happy that she now has two children. Her outlook on life has been altered by all of these, and she now desires more time spent with her family. Additionally, a member of her family is participating in the field this week, even though she withheld any information regarding her comeback during the tour.

This week’s HGV Tournament of Champions features a celebrity group that includes her husband, Aaron Hicks. Hicks commented, “To feel that adrenaline that goes through you when you tee off on the first hole and finishing on the last hole,” in reference to this week’s match. I always enjoy feeling that way. Hicks himself played golf for a while before turning to baseball. However, he acknowledges that his wife has improved his golf form.

For the time being, Woods did not appear to indicate that he wanted to officially return. However, she stated that she would be thrilled to give it a shot at competing in a future U.S. Women’s Open.
