Is Tiger Woods making a comeback? There have been reports for some time now that the three golfing associations’ framework agreement is eventually coming to an end, according to sources. Now, it seems that a new story has surfaced once more, this time stating that the Council, led by the legendary player, will meet shortly as a consequence of the same.
Josh Carpenter announced the shocking news to the community in a tweet on his X handle, which was originally Twitter. “There will be a PGA Tour Player Advisory Council call tomorrow morning at 8 am ET,” the tweet stated.
Carpenter continued by sharing an additional update to the preceding Twitter on his X handle, including the notice released by the Player Relations of the PGA Tour. The information disclosed was that Circuit Commissioner Jay Monahan would “host a conference call for all members in order to provide an important, timely update.”
Furthermore, the PR for the golf organization announced the hour at which the information would be released and stressed that the call would be “listen-only.” A “series of meetings and touchpoints over the next several weeks” would be used to answer any queries from the players, the announcement stated, despite the fact that the conference was called due to “the high number of expected participants across all three Tours.”
Well, the news came out surprising given it was just two days ago that the new 16-member PAC was announced. It’s interesting to note that nine members of the 2023 council resigned from their positions this year. Some well-known golfers, such as Brian Harman, Sam Burns, Max Homa, Mackenzie Hughes, Keith Mitchell, Kevin Streelman, and Scottie Scheffler, did, however, continue to hold their spots on the PAC.
The council’s meeting does provide promise for the merger’s overall state, even though none of the three golf circuits have confirmed the speculations that the arrangement will expire soon. That being said, only time will tell if the new framework agreement aligns with the PAC members’ values. Nothing less than the all-clear if that occurs. Cross your fingers!
