David Blitzer is a prominent figure in the world of alternative investments, and his current net worth stands at $1.9B. The 54-year-old works as the head of the Tactical Opportunities Group at Blackstone, which is a big player in the alternative investment industry. Blitzer has quite a few teams in his kitty through his investments. For instance, the partnership with Apollo Global’s Joshua Harris in 2011 to acquire the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers. Over the last few years, under Blitzer’s leadership, the company went on to expand its sports empire by adding the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, the English soccer club Crystal Palace, and partial ownership in the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers to their portfolio.
Blitzer’s investments are a real mixed bag. Other than these ventures, the billion-giant also holds a stake in the MLB’s Cleveland Guardians. Not just that, he is a co-owner of MLS’ Real Salt Lake, alongside Qualtrics co-founder Ryan Smith.

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s tech-based TGL are planning on introducing an innovative change to the traditional format of golfing. In addition to a 15-hole match-play format and points-based scoring system, TGL will incorporate a 40-second shot clock executed by a referee. Teams can call timeouts to avoid penalties.
This upcoming season will feature nine-hole alternate shot sessions and six holes of singles, with teams earning points for each hole won. The top four teams advance to the playoffs, with matches airing live on ESPN and ESPN+. The league aims to make golf matches faster-paced, entertaining, and strategic for both players as well as fans.
