T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas – Undisputed welterweight champion Terence Crawford was ringside on Saturday night, to win two other undisputed champions collide in the ring.

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs) dropped and dominated Jermell Charlo (35-2-1, 19 KOs) over twelve rounds to secure a unanimous decision win.

The scores were 119-108, 118-109 and 118-109.

Charlo, holder of the undisputed crown at 154-pounds, moved up in weight by two full divisions to challenge Canelo for his four titles at 168-pounds.

Back in July, Crawford beat down Errol Spence to become the undisputed world champion at 147-pounds. Charlo and Spence are close friends and share the same head trainer in Derrick James.

After that fight was over, Crawford and Charlo were exchanging harsh words each other.

Following Saturday’s fight, Crawford took to social media and took direct aim at Charlo.

“[Jermell Charlo], you went out sad. Didn’t even try to win, all you did was try to survive. You should be ashamed of yourself,” Crawford stated.

“Ok y’all I’m over [Charlo], he’s no longer on my hit list. He went out there and laid down and let Canelo spank him like he was his daddy with no type of resistance. Congratulations Canelo, you made the so called lion look like a baby cub.”

Crawford was sizing up both men in the weeks leading up to the fight. At the moment, Crawford is contracted to face Spence in a rematch. A few weeks ago, Spence exercised his right to an immediate rematch.

The second fight has to take place before the end of the year – unless both fighters agree to a later date. Should the fight fall through, Crawford is likely heading up to the junior middleweight division – with Charlo as a certain target.
