Chelsea are closing in on agreeing terms with Ajax playmaker Mohammed Kudus as they look to beat Arsenal to his signature.

Arsenal have been chasing Ajax playmaker Mohammed Kudus but Chelsea are now closing in.

That is according to The Athletic, who claim that Chelsea have now made contact with Ajax over a deal for Kudus.

CHELSEA
LONDON, ENGLAND – JANUARY 23: A Chelsea FC club badge is seen during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on January 23, 2022 in London, England.

It’s stated that an official bid has yet to be submitted but talks are now ongoing between Ajax and Chelsea.

The Blues are even though to be very close to agreeing personal terms with Kudus.

A move to Stamford Bridge appears to be accelerating although the report does add that Kudus is just one of a number of Chelsea targets.

It’s believed that Kudus is ‘keen’ to leave Ajax this summer and has already rejected a one-year extension to his contract, which ends in 2025.

That makes a move to Chelsea seem even more likely – which could leave Arsenal pretty gutted

Chelsea could beat Arsenal to Mohammed Kudus

Chelsea ramping up their interest in Kudus comes just days after new rumours about an Arsenal move.

Claims from the Daily Mail suggested that Arsenal are interested in bringing Kudus to North London.

SAKA

The Gunners are thought to want another right-sided attacker who can offer cover and competition for Bukayo Saka.

Kudus certainly fits that bill having previously played on the right flank, cutting in on his left foot just like Saka.
