Throughout Tiger Woods‘ extraordinary career, injuries have been an unforgiving, recurring companion. In a recent appearance on the TODAY show, Tiger Woods explained his current struggles on the greens. Although the 48-year-old had earlier in the year set a goal of participating in one tournament every month, he conceded the schedule might need to be adjusted in light of his recovery requirements. “I have basically the next three months. So I have three majors and hopefully, you know, that’ll kind of work out.”
Woods has marked off the PGA Championship, U.S. Open, and British Open in his calendar in an effort to keep going against the odds and compete in major championships. Woods has also explained his physical troubles after the accident, “I’ve struggled with my hips moving and especially since my accident, my right leg doesn’t work that well.” He goes on to explain that he slides through impacts due to limited movement in his damaged right leg, which results in blocks and mis-hits that he is continuously trying to get rid of. Compared to his best years, Woods’ practice and recovery routines have changed significantly as a result of the hurdles.
“It’s just like being at home. It’s like being at home when we’re practicing at home,” he said about his new normal on tour. “I’m trying to keep the club tight to my body.”
But the physical cost is enormous, as he disclosed doing a lengthy “cold plunge, stretch, all of it” exercise every day following a game. When asked how he felt after Augusta, “I was sore,” was his only answer, “cold plunge every day, religiously.”

Before the Masters, Tiger Woods was reported to not even being able to move his ankle, according to his friend Notah Begay. “For the past couple of months, he’s been trying to find a way to recover,” Begay said. The list of Hughes Norton’s engagements in the sports world is endless. The focus presently is his intriguing new book, Rainmaker, which contains anecdotes of his association with Tiger Woods and Greg Norman. The two were, and still are considered to be all-time greats and were regarded as bitter competitors. But as Hughes Norton’s riveting book reveals, there was a shocking difference between the goals and personalities behind the scenes.
Norton portrayed Woods as a person who was extremely discomforted with the idea of fame. Woods’s former agent said that fame was “an intrusion into his (Tiger Woods) life.” But on the contrary, Greg Norman loved the fame, and everything that came with it; “Greg, on the other hand, loved the adoration, the attention, and the wealth with the Gulfstream jets and the seven Ferraris in the garage.” The former agent also claimed that the Australian had an insatiable “consuming need to be visible and relevant.”
Elaborating on Woods’s attitude and comparing the two, the author said, “But Tiger couldn’t care less.” Norton revealed about the 5x major champion that he did not care much about money. “At one point he said, ‘You know there’s this $40 million from Nike, $20 million from Titleist, it’s paper money, Hughes’. He picked up a winner’s cheque from a tournament he’d just won and said, ‘See this, this $300,000 I won in Las Vegas, that’s real to me. This other stuff is paper money. It’s an interesting outlook but it showed you how narrow-focused he was,” said while talking to Today’s Golfer.
Norton’s turbulent 11-year run as Norman’s agent, which ended in a contentious split, is covered in two complete chapters in the former’s book. Woods and Norman are opposite personalities, and this might just be the reason for their long-standing troubled relationship. The two met for the first time when Woods was just 15 years old and played a round of golf together at Bay Hill in Orlando. They even played a few practice rounds together during the 1995 and 1996 Masters, and it is to be believed that their relationship started to rumble in later half of 96.
How did the duo’s friendship go haywire
In 1996, Woods listed Norman’s Shark Shootout among the tournaments he would but the latter’s representatives mentioned that no such invitation had been extended. Woods opted out to play when a formal invitation was extended to him and played in the Australian Open. In 2011, the LIV CEO also said he would not have picked Woods to play on the U.S. Presidents Cup team. In 2015, Norman said, “He will win again. He will win other tour events. But a major? I don’t see it.”

Talking about his firing, Norton said to Today’s Golfer, “I would love to sit down with Tiger today and say, ‘Flashback 25 years, what was the reason? You never gave me any indication that something was wrong or that you weren’t happy’. That leads into my feelings of betrayal because it was very tough to swallow.” Norton’s narration of how he and Woods parted ways, and the golfer ended his relationship with everyone reflects on what Erica Herman alleged about her breakup in the fall of 2022.

In 2023, Erica Herman filed a lawsuit against Tiger Woods. Per the 40-year-old, she was ‘tricked’ by Woods’s staff to pack bags for a short vacation to the Bahamas. However, allegedly once she was out of the house and reached the airport, she was informed that she was not to be returned to the mansion and could not contact the golfer and the kids ever again. She said in the lawsuit that she was ‘locked out’ of his house with no return. The two were in a tumultuous lawsuit, which Herman dropped in November 2023.
Steve Williams, Woods’s caddie of almost 12 years also claimed that he was dumped abruptly. After Woods took a short break in 2011, Williams decided to caddie for someone else. At first, Woods said it was not an issue, Williams told the New Zealand Herald. However, a few days later, his agent called to say, if he worked with anyone else his tenure with Woods would end. Tiger Woods’s Car Accidents
Woods has suffered a dark fate when it comes to accidents. He has been involved in three separate car accidents, each life-threatening. The first came in 2009, when the golf pro lost control of his SUV and crashed it into a fire hydrant, soon after pulling out of the driveway of his Florida mansion. He was knocked out and lost consciousness for nearly 6 minutes. His injuries from the accident had been described as “serious.”

It had long been rumored Tiger Woods was unfaithful to ex-wife Elin Nordegren a couple of years before that fateful Thanksgiving weekend in 2009.
The speculation was that photos of Woods and alleged mistress Mindy Lawton were never published after the National Enquirer and Woods negotiated a deal that would put him on the cover of Men’s Fitness.
Turns out that speculation is the truth, according to David Pecker.
At the time of the Lawton incident, Pecker was the CEO of American Media Inc., which operated the Enquirer and Men’s Fitness.
Pecker, testifying at the New York v. Trump trial in New York, said he bought the photos and buried them in return for Woods appearing on the magazine.
Pecker says he bought the pictures of the two in the parking lot of a church and used them as blackmail. Woods was on the cover of the magazine with a 12-page story about his diet, workout regimen and marriage.
The deal only bought Woods so much time, though, as his affair with Rachel Uchitel became very public in 2009, which led to Nordegren swinging a golf club at Woods’ vehicle.
As the argument became news, dozens of women came forward describing relationships with Woods. His divorce reportedly cost Woods almost $100 million.
Woods has been in and out of relationships since then, including with Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn. His most recent relationship with Erica Herman ended badly when she accused Woods of sexual harassment and making her sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Woods recently played in The Masters and made his record 24th consecutive cut. But in the third round, he shot an 82, his worst score ever at Augusta, which resulted in a finish of dead last.
Being the son of the golf great Tiger Woods has its cons and pros. On one hand, Charlie Woods gets to learn from the best of the best, and on the other, he has to deal with constant scrutiny and carry the weight of expectations that have been knocking at his door since he chose golf as his career. Charlie has not yet achieved the remarkable feats in his amateur career that his father accomplished when he was 15.
And with the emergence of rising talent in the golf world, there is heightened pressure on Woods to be successful and not get buried under expectations or overshadowed by his rival. In that bid, Charlie Woods has to come out successful for the Pinehurst chase.
On Thursday, Charlie Woods will be playing at the 18-hole U.S. Open qualifier at The Legacy Golf & Tennis Club in Florida. The 15-year-old will be making a run to qualify for the 76th U.S. Open and get his name out in the golf world when there is huge pressure on him and when he has failed to prove his game before. In late March, Woods was given a sponsor exemption to play at the Will Lowry Junior Championship sanctioned by the AJGA. marking his AJGA debut.
The Florida native was expected to finish in the top position. However, the 15-year-old started round one with a 6 over 78 with three birdies, two double bogeys, and five single ones. Eventually, he shot the last two rounds of 81 and 78 to finish in a tie for 32 at 21 over 237. Woods was more than 20 strokes behind the winner, Patmon Malcom. And this year, it was not the only disappointment for Tiger Woods’s son. Before his AJGA debut, the junior golfer participated in a qualifier for the Cognizant Classic.
The news attracted many fans on the course and made the situation a bit risky. Amidst the chaos, Woods shot a round of 16 over 86 and lost the chance to play at Palm Beach with other PGA Tour pros. Woods still has a long way to go to catch up to amateurs like Miles Russell, the 15-year-old who became the youngest player to make the cut for a PGA Tour-sanctioned event and to win the AJGA Rolex Boys POY, breaking Tiger Woods’s 32-year-old record.
Another amateur golfer giving Woods tough competition is Gordon Sargent, who is known for his driving speed of 185–190 mph and has been praised by Max Homa as a “phenomenal golfer.” While Woods’s resume does boast such similar accolades, the question remains: will he be able to equal his father’s feat achievements at the age of 15?
By the age of 15, Tiger Woods had already made a name for himself as a talented golfer. Also in the Glasgow Indoors this year, the track and field champion crossed the bar with the mark of 6.05 in March. That also came out to be world-leading time indoors. In the way of claiming such a record, Mondo could not display the elementary moves initially. However, a champion’s mindset, just like Tiger Woods, helped him to pull out from the debacle and post a mark of 6.05 meters.
Now after bagging the world record, Mondo Duplantis will head to Shanghai/Suzhou to participate in the ongoing Diamond League series. Eventually, the 24-year-old American-born Swedish is on a quest that may set up firmly alongside Mr. T.
With the Xiamen Diamond League title in the pocket, Mondo Duplantis can now brag of an unparalleled feat. Since the Budapest Worlds last year, the pole vaulter now possesses 10 titles in this timeline. He has made the achievement more shiny by recording consecutively better marks in five contests. In the pole vault world, such a feat is as rare as the presence of mistakes in Mondo’s performances in recent times! He will appear in Shanghai/Suzhou with a similar goal- to surpass his own record. But another milestone will be in his mind.
If he wins in Shanghai/Suzhou, that will be his fourth Diamond League title- 3 less than the pole vault legend, Renaud Lavillenie’s achievement. Mondo will be looking to topple the French veteran in this season. So again, he might employ the golf tactics- finding the numbers and discussing those with the coach.
