In the meantime, Paul has turned to social media to clap back at his critics. Interestingly, his last opponent, Mike Perry, has also chimed in to give his two cents on the matter.

Back in May, ‘Iron’ Mike suffered an ulcer flare-up during a cross-country flight, which saw the cross-generational bout between Paul and Tyson get pushed back to November 15th. “When I received the news that he was out and not able to fight, I was just numb,” Paul said in the documentary, ‘Countdown: Paul vs Tyson’ created by Netflix capturing the lead-up to their fight.

“I was just like, ‘f***…’ I’m the type of person who likes a schedule and likes to know what I’m doing. This just threw a wrench in all of that. There was nothing I could do. It was out of my control,” he added. Regardless, BKFC champion ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry stepped in at the last minute to replace Tyson in the July 20 bout and save the event.

Nonetheless, reacting to Paul’s video, which included a clip showing Perry getting dropped by the social media star during their fight in July, ‘Platinum’ Perry, seemingly in support of Jake Paul, wrote back, “Siempre me levantare,” which roughly translates to “I will always get up.” While Perry promises to never give up, the former UFC star seems to still be firing shots at McGregor.

In an explosive clip from his upcoming ‘Down & Dirty’ documentary, the former UFC star held nothing back while venting his frustration towards Conor McGregor. Following their feud after Perry lost to Paul, the duo have never looked eye to eye despite their common affiliation to BKFC. However, the tension between them only seems to have escalated.

In his documentary, Perry said, “That needs to happen” at the mention of a potential fight between him and McGregor. “What’s making me mad is everybody s**king his b**ls. Like he’s already fought for them. Like, ‘Hi, did y’all forget that I’m the reason y’all are pumped up right now?’ I fought five times for y’all, and you all ain’t showing me no [love],” Perry added.

That said, BKFC champion Mike Perry seems to be supporting Jake Paul in the upcoming fight against Mike Tyson. Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see whether the tension between Perry and McGregor could spill over into a fight.

Undeterred, he pressed, “Not even a year from now?” One of Paul’s friends responded, “Mike Tyson just got s**t he knows how to do bro that’s just..” while the other added, “He’s just a dog…”

Despite their skepticism, Paul had a vision. “Bro, I was just thinking Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson… That would be hilarious…” Fast forward just a few years and this vision has become a reality, seemingly manifested into existence. And fans are loving it! As Paul’s idea comes to life, people are quick to share their thoughts.

The clip did what it meant to do—gather a bunch of reactions from people very quickly. One user expressed their excitement for the upcoming fight. “The biggest fight ever! I’m dying to Witness this fight…November 15,” the user wrote. Notably, the fight will be broadcast live on Netflix for their subscribers.

Meanwhile, this user was inspired by Paul’s clip. “Inspirational,” the user wrote. Still, it’s yet to be seen whether Paul can get the job done.

Another user rallied behind Paul to support the YouTube boxer. “So many of us are rooting for you! You have gone through so much and deserve all the glory,” the user commented. However, Paul is often criticized for fighting opponents older than him and out of their prime.

While Paul received support, it also came with a healthy dose of criticism. “I just don’t understand how beating a weathered Tyson could be considered an accomplishment ,” the user wrote. In fact, the fight will see a 31-year age gap between the boxers.

So if one wishes to believe what she said, the overall payout of both must be an impressive figure.

One should remember that what some of the women champions have received in the past and currently is nowhere closer to what Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao, or Canelo Alvarez have earned. Jake Paul went to the UFC 306 (Noche) card earlier this month in disguise. ‘The Problem Child’ did this purportedly because he is banned from attending UFC events. After all, the contempt and outright hatred that Dana White has for him is well-known, with the UFC CEO having called him a ‘clown’, a drug cheat, and having described his boxing career as a “circus act.”

But, Paul, who isn’t exactly one to pull his punches, has had a markedly conciliatory tone when talking about the UFC CEO of late. Exhibit A for this seeming change of heart is Paul’s recent podcast with Steve-O, where he revealed that his ‘only’ problem with White was that the UFC paid its lowest-tier fighter less than what Paul thinks is fair. However, former UFC star Josh Thomson doesn’t think this purported change is out of the goodness of Paul’s heart but is motivated by cold, hard business decisions of the Saudi Arabian kind.

“Jake Paul had a little something to say about Dana and him backing out of giving Dana a hard time and all of these things. Now, look, I believe, [in] my personal opinion there’s more to this story. We just don’t know. I believe that Jake Paul is probably working some sort of a side deal in boxing with probably Saudi Arabia or you know somewhere in the Middle East. He’s probably working some sort of little side deal so he’s going to have to play nice. It’s CU funny because this whole thing came about right after Noche and guess who else was there?… Turki [Alalsheik] was there,” he said on his ‘Weighing In’ podcast.

The Saudi government, of course, is trying to make the Kingdom a sports tourism hub. Over the past few years, the monarchy has hosted some of the biggest boxing cards in the world, including the first undisputed heavyweight clash in nearly half a century. This year, Saudi, for the first time, welcomed the UFC to its sandy shores and was also the title sponsor for the UFC 306 card via its ‘Riyadh Season’ brand. The point man for all of the combat sports-related business is Turki Alalsheik. The latter, of course, is Saudi’s Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority.

It is unclear why Paul would need to play nice with Dana White and the UFC even if he hopes to do some business with the Saudis. After all, it’s not like White is going to have any say on whom the Saudis do business with. After all, Jake Paul himself, despite all the criticism he gets, is one of the biggest names in the fight game.

Paul had to make two attempts and resort to using a towel before he could make the weight for the fight against ‘Platinum Perry’. And now he is back to gaining weight.

So, when asked about his game plan for gaining weight against Tyson, who weighed 220 pounds in his last fight against Roy Jones Jr., he had a simple answer. The YouTuber-turned-Prizefighter declared, “I think I’m gonna just gonna keep on eating like I am and just trying to put on as much weight as possible.” 

Paul also disclosed that he had found his perfect weight where he didn’t have to compromise speed for power. He continued, “But while maintaining my speed. I think I might have been a little bit fat before, like too heavy. But I think I learned from that. And I think my sweet spot is probably gonna be more like 220, 225.”

If the Cleveland native comes in at 230 pounds, it will ensure he can unload heavy punches and stay quick on his feet to avoid getting caught by Tyson. However, if Jones Jr. is to be believed, it will only make the fight “interesting.”

A word of caution was issued for Jake Paul

When Jones Jr., at 66-10, fought Tyson, at 50-6, he faced the brunt of the latter’s powerful punches. He thought he could avoid him by staying quick on his feet, but he couldn’t. ‘Superman’ predicts a similar fate for Paul. He declared, “If he’s [Jake Paul] at 230, that can make it very interesting. Jake’s not going to fight close, and he can’t stay away from him. Because Mike will close the gap too quick.”

“I thought I could stay away from him. I couldn’t. And I know I’m better at staying away from people than Jake is,” he added. So, Paul will find himself in a tight spot, and fans will soon find out whether extra weight will be a liability for him or not.
