Danielle Collins is gearing up to go head-to-head with Olga Danilović. After advancing through the qualifiers, the Serbian tennis player is set to face the American in the second round of Roland Garros. Before that match, she is basking in the glory of her first-round victory, while also finding amusement in a tennis meme featuring Serena Williams and the current world number one, Iga Swiatek.

As the first round of the French Open is over, a tennis meme is going around on the internet talking about those players who have never been defeated in the first round of any major event. The post had a picture of Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Iga Swiatek, and the 23-year-old tennis player herself.

Danilović captioned the post with laughing emojis, “,” as Williams and Swiatek looked distressed in the picture. She was quite amused to find out that she shares a stage with some of the biggest players, in this one particular aspect.

However, even though she might have never faced defeat in the first round, her second-round competition at the French Open will be tough. Despite announcing her retirement at the end of the current season, the thirty-year-old Collins is having one of her best touring seasons. This year, Collins has claimed victory over Ons Jabeur, Maria Sakkari, and Elena Rybakina, three players ranked in the top ten.

She has also pushed Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek, the current top players, to some of their hardest matches of the year.

Moreover, earlier this month, the Miami Open champion joined the 42-year-old American tennis legend as she became the second American to pull a maverick WTA-1000 level feat at the Italian Open.

Danielle Collins pulled a Serena Williams-like feat this season

Following back-to-back victories in Miami and Charleston, the American tennis player had progressed to the Italian Open semifinals. With this accomplishment, the 30-year-old athlete joined her fellow countrywoman and tennis legend Serena Williams on the prestigious “WTA-1000” list.

Surprisingly, she became the second American player on the tour to accomplish this uncommon WTA-1000 clay and hard court feat, following Serena Williams. She became the oldest player to win 15 straight WTA tour matches since Serena Williams did so in 2015.
