In the wake of Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis, WBA Lightweight champion Gervonta Davis fired his shots at Haney and Conor Benn. As per his statements, Benn and Haney are two boxers who have cheated in the sport.
Likewise, after ‘Tank’ tried to ridicule Benn, the latter jabbed the Lightweight champion back with thorny words. In addition, Benn aka ‘The Destroyer’ publicly confirmed an ongoing discussion with Devin Haney about a potential fight.
Of late, the California Commission revealed that Devin Haney rehydrated to 165 lbs for a fight in Super-Lightweight against Regis Prograis after the official weigh-in. In this context, Gervonta Davis took to X and blasted Haney. Additionally, he called out Conor Benn who had earlier failed his VADA test and was positive for clomifene. “Benn was caught cheating and Eddie Hearn was gonna let him fight,” Davis wrote on X.
As soon as the tweet came to Benn’s notice, ‘The Destroyer’ alluded to the fact that there was a domestic violence battery charge against ‘Tank’ Davis. “Dont mention me @Gervontaa in your little cross fire you little dwarf woman beater,” wrote Benn. In a follow-up, Benn suggested Davis was even smaller than ‘The Destroyer’:
“Yeah I’m small but that little woman beater @Gervontaa has full length photo on his drivers license,” Benn added. On the other hand, Bill Haney, the father of Devin Haney, reportedly declared that his son has spoken to Conor Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn regarding a potential fight. On that note, Benn further declared that the winner of Benn vs. Haney should face Gervonta Davis.
Conor Benn confirms ongoing discussion with Devin Haney, wants winner to face Davis
In the wake of Devin Haney’s victory over Regis Prograis, Bill Haney openly challenged Gervonta Davis. Declaring they were “available,” Bill urged ‘Tank’ Davis to accept the Haney fight at 140 lbs. However, since ‘Tank’ did not reciprocate, Bill Haney went to the extent of branding the team ‘Tank’ “p***ies.” Since Davis showed zero interest, team Haney is now pursuing a fight with Conor Benn. But, neither Haney nor Benn is done with Davis.
Likewise, after the prospect of Haney vs. Benn became public, ‘The Destroyer’ hoped the winner would face Gervonta Davis in the ring. “Let’s go champ @Realdevinhaney Winner gets the woman beating dwarf @Gervontaa,” Benn proposed.
