During his 20 years in the NBA, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has done more than enough to secure his place in league history.
He has in fact broken and set numerous records during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Cavaliers again, and finally the Los Angeles Lakers.
Because of his age, some people would expect him to gas out at the end of games.
But StatMamba did research and found the opposite is true.
They tweeted that James averaged the most fourth-quarter points per game in NBA history.
He averaged 7.45 in the fourth when initially with the Cavs, 6.07 with the Heat, 7.14 during his return with Cleveland, and 7.90 with the Lakers.
StatMamba also pointed out that he has the most total fourth-quarter points in NBA history, not just the per-game average.
This is what happens when you have a player who remains supremely talented after more than two decades in the game.
At nearly 39 years old, James is still averaging 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game.
That has simply never been done before and he is setting benchmarks that are astonishing for a man of his age.
It’s rare to see a 38-year-old superstar but it’s even rarer to see someone just shy of 40 playing in the fourth quarter of every game.
This again speaks to the power of James.
A leader is someone who can be relied upon in the closing moments of a game, someone who can seal the deal for their team.
During his 20 years, James has definitely proven he is that.
