Frances Tiafoe has always mentioned that the Williams sisters have played an enormous role in his career. Recently, Tiafoe became the first man after Andy Roddick (2006-2008) to reach three consecutive QF in the US Open. Shortly after completing this historic triumph with a win against Alexei Popyrin, the American tennis star revealed how Serena Williams inspired him to bring the best out of himself on the court.
He said, that the ‘Queen of the Court’ told him that she wanted nothing but the best for him. “Telling me I’m the guy of color playing and doing well now that she’s done… Coming from her, that’s a loud sentence,” revealed Tiafoe. He also expressed his excitement at seeing Serena Williams making a comeback at the US Open as a fan.
