Jarrell Miller has continued to stoke his fiery war of words with Anthony Joshua by stating ‘we aren’t friends’.
Miller and Joshua have seriously disliked each other for over four years. It started back in New York City in June 2019 when they were due to fight to mark Joshua’s stateside debut. In the build up to the fight and following some uncharacteristically heated back and forth at the press conferences, Miller failed several drug tests and was removed from the card. Late stand-in Andy Ruiz Jr then caused one of the biggest upsets in modern boxing by stopping Joshua and taking his three world titles home.
AJ’ later regained the titles in the rematch and when he came face to face with Miller at the press conference to announce their respective fights against Otto Wallin and Daniel Dubois next month, the war of words started up again with vengeance.
Speaking to FightHype, Big Baby Miller said AJ tried to apologise after the fiery press conference.
“He trying to call and apologise and there ain’t nothing to talk about man. He called my publicist, the same day after the press conference. Ain’t nothing to talk about man.”
Miller then said the only way he would be open to talking to Joshua would be about a fight between the two.
“If you want to talk business about a future fight then yeh we can talk then but until then we aren’t going to be friends until I punch you in the mouth. It’s like that thing at school you got guys you don’t get along with then you fight and you become best friends after that. But until I touch his chin ain’t nothing to talk about man.”
Should both men come through their fights on December 23, the path could be clear for them to settle their beef once and for all.
