Fabrizio Romano has opened up on the prospect of Jamal Musiala signing for Chelsea ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
On Tuesday The Secret Scout claimed on X, the social media platform formally known as Twitter, that Chelsea were eager to re-sign Musiala, who is a product of the Blues academy.
While the report added that Bayern Munich would not be open to selling the 20-year-old Germany international so late in the transfer window, when asked whether Musiala would ever consider re-joining Chelsea, The Secret Scout said: “Yes.”
Chelsea fans have since been excited by the prospect of seeing Musiala, one of the world’s brightest young talents, make a Stamford Bridge return.
However, Romano has deemed the prospect of Musiala returning to Chelsea this summer as “impossible”.
The transfer guru said on his YouTube channel: “We heard many names, some were absolutely impossible like Musiala.
“It’s something Chelsea never considered this summer because it was impossible to go for him.”
Elsewhere however, the Athletic claim Chelsea and Manchester City have reached an agreement for Palmer.
The Blues will reportedly pay a fee in the region of £40-£45million for attacking midfielder. The England Under-21 international is now expected to undergo a medical in the next 24 hours before completing a move ahead of the deadline.
Palmer, a product of City’s academy, has made 19 Premier League games and made a further 22 appearances for the club in additional competitions.
The 21-year-old netted in the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal to close out pre-season, but has only featured twice since.
Indeed, Palmer started and scored in City’s Super Cup win over Sevilla, while he came off the bench in the club’s opening-weekend win over Burnley.
Should Palmer complete his move to Chelsea it will be another example of City’s ability to generate massive fees for their players.
Last summer City paid fees for Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips, Manuel Akanji and Sergio Gomez.
Nevertheless the club still made a profit, having sold Gavin Bazunu, Sam Edozie, Juan Larios and Romeo Lavia for a combined £38million, plus add-ons.
